National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR) Data Collection
Formerly known as the Trauma and Audit Research Network (TARN) Ownership and operation of TARN moved back to NHSE under a new Direction and being renamed the National Major Trauma Registry (NMTR). As a consequence, there has been no national clinical audit for trauma care across England since June 2023. TARN supports trauma receiving Trusts by providing each trauma unit with case mix adjusted outcome analysis, performance of key process measures and comparisons of trauma care.

National Diabetes Audit – Core Collection
Change to the existing NDA Core Collection in response to a NICE recommendation that Hybrid Closed Loop (HCL) be prescribed to patients identified in the eligibility cohort agreed. The NDA data/audit will be amended for HCL so that it can be used to measure progress on delivery, clinical outcomes and support financial contributions from NHS England to ICBs and hospital trusts, for the delivery of HCL.

The purposes for which the data is being used have expanded however to cover inclusion in the Primary Care Access Recovery Plan.

To provide NHSE regions and their maternity and neonatal services with the daily data required to facilitate the arrangement of mutual aid in line with an agreed OPEL framework. Provide NHSE with a fortnightly cut of the data to inform the Perinatal Quality Surveillance Model of when a service might be becoming vulnerable to poor outcomes so the appropriate support can be channelled.
